WV Patriots for Peace Is Saddened

Ken Stone was a peacemaker and a man dedicated to justice and truth. One of the very first members of West Virginia Patriots for Peace, Ken was later hired by WVPP in 2003 to organize a statewide meeting in Clarksburg of peace activists. The peace and justice community has lost a dear friend and he will be missed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 , at Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charleston , with the Rev. Sharon Youngs and the Rev. Don Steele officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston . In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Highlawn Presbyterian Church, 2501 Washington Ave., St. Albans, WV 25177 or The Presbytery of West Virginia, 520 2nd Ave., South Charleston, WV. American Friends Celebrate 90 Years

You are invited to a celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the American Friends Service Committee which will be held on Friday, July 13 at the Charleston Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 520 Kanawha Boulevard.
No RSVP is necessary. Elaine Purkey will be performing WV labor songs and there will be refreshments.
