Apologies

They say you're not quite right the week after a legislative session and boy did I make two whopping mistakes. On March 12 th , the Committee to Re-Elect Bonnie Brown to the WV House of Delegates in the 30 th District held a fund raiser for her campaign at the Charleston Women's Club.

I forgot to mention it in the last DREMA Dems Bulletin. Bonnie Brown has many supporters among you and I feel personally responsible for not holding up my end to get the word out. The event was grand by the way and I was sorry if you could not make it.

But campaigns being what they are in Kanawha County are expensive and I know Bonnie would be grateful for any contribution you can make. It's stunning what it costs to run for public office. So pull out your checkbook if you will and write a campaign contribution to:

Bonnie Brown for the WV House Committee

Then put your check in the mail it to:

Brown for the House Committee
2328 Woodland Ave
South Charleston , WV 25303-2634

Apology Number 2

When it rains it just flat out pours. So here is apology number 2. Evidently, the March 18th meeting of the full coordinated Democratic campaign committee slated for noon at the Summit Conference Center was meant for those office holders of various organizations representing Democrats. I was asked to attend as were some of the other office holders for the DREMA Dems with the idea that we will report back to you all. So you are off the hook for March 18th . Instead, stay tuned and we'll let you know what the thinking is among Democrats who want to see a clean spring and fall sweep.

Five Years Too Many

HONOR THE DEAD, DEMAND AN END
Tuesday, March 18th , 2008 - 5:15 pm
WV Veterans Memorial - State Capitol Complex
Please join WV Patriots for Peace and Citizen Action Group to honor the fallen and to call for an end to this unnecessary and immoral war.   Not one more dollar and not one mo life can be spared; we must act NOW. (If you are unable to attend, please wear a white armband to school or work on Wednesday, March 19th, to show your solidarity for the call to end the war.)

I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.--                                                                       Dwight D. Eisenhower

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.                                                                    Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

White House Offers Plan to Ward Off Credit Crises
By STEPHEN LABATON
The Bush administration on Thursday outlined a plan that officials emphasized is meant more to prevent future crises than to address the current one.

'Shares of Carlyle Capital (yes, think George H.W. Bush) plunged on Thursday, losing most of their value, after the company said it expected its lenders to promptly take over all its assets after discussions with banks to refinance the fund failed.' 3/14
