Re-Elect Carrie Webster for House of Delegates - 31st

A Democrat, representing the thirty-first delegate district in Kanawha County, Delegate Carrie Webster was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2000 and is currently serving her fourth term.  In January 2007, Speaker Richard Thompson appointed Delegate Webster to serve as Chair of the Committee on the Judiciary.

Delegate Webster is the first female in state history to serve in this position.  She has been a member of the Committee on the Judiciary since her first election to the House in November 2000.

Delegate Webster also currently serves on the House Rules Committee.  Her legislative interim committee appointments include: the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary, House Chair; Joint Commission on Economic Development; Legislative Oversight Committee on Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority; and the Joint Committee on Government and Finance.

Delegate Webster was also instrumental in the formation of the Select Committee on Minority Issues, which she chaired from 2001-2006.  Governor Joe Manchin, III, has also appointed Delegate Webster to serve as an ex-officio member of the Industrial Council, which oversees the State’s Worker’s Compensation System.
